Nicola is an Australian producer, writer and director. She is best known for directing “The Art of Doodling” (2018) short documentary, winner of the Audience Award at Shortie Film Festival New York and officially selected for Melbourne Documentary Film Festival. “The Granny Flat” (2019) a short animation she produced, won Best Comedy at Australian Women’s Film Festival and was officially selected for Flickerfest International Short Film Festival, Revelation Perth International Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival, Cannes Antipodes and more.
Nicola's work is characterised by it's focus on connections between feeling and place. She experiments with style to share alternative perspectives…often with a tongue in cheek twist.
Nicola completed a Bachelor of Arts: Screen Production at the Australian Film Television and Radio School in 2018, and is now a guest lecturer. Her experience ranges across different roles in pre-production, production and post-production in many formats including narrative features and shorts, documentary shorts, music videos, concert videos, PhD projects, as well as marketing and educational content creation.
In 2020, Nicola began producing, writing and directing her debut feature documentary, now in post-production alongside her freelance work.
